I purchased this so that my senior dog can continue to accompany me on long walks. I've used it on pavement, grass, drit, and gravel and it does great on every surface. The wheels are huge and go over any surface easily.
It's very sturdy, and holds it 70 lb dog with plenty of room. I added a plush dog bed for comfort.
The back folds down, which is great because my dog can walk on and off the wagon on her own, as opposed to being picked up and placed in it.
I highly recommend this wagon and so does Roxie!

I use this mostly for the beach - hauling chairs, umbrella and cooler. It works for other things too like hauling my dog around ??. The wheels are really wide and do fairly well on sand. Its not great on soft dune like areas, but hard pack surf areas its pretty easy to pull. You can pull it on the softer areas of beach, but it takes quite a bit of effort when you have sandals on. Its sturdy, holds quite a lot and is easy to store and pack away. Love this thing.
